Received 3 ; 5.35 p.m. Fiemington, March 3. ' There was a big crowd at Fiemington, and they enjoyed splendid sport. There was beautiful weather. The racing was highly interesting, notwithstanding that the field in the All-aged Stakes was reduced to three runners. The meeting between Alawa and Prince Foote had been looited forward to, and naturally -.there was great disappointment when ■ Alawa was withdrawn, unwell. Interest in the race then centred in the contest between Malt King and Prince ■Foots. Malt King ran across in the straight and a protest was entered by Prince Foote, but was dismissed. Results:— Hopeful Stakes, n sweepstake of t\?o sovs. each, with 200 sovs. added (five furlongs)—Biairgour 1, Vera 2, Pendulous 3. Fourteen others started. Won ■by five lengths and three-quarters. ..Time, Imin 3sec. All-aged Stakes, a sweepstake of 10 sots, each, with 1000 soys, added (one anile) —Malt King (9.T) 1, Prince Foote (8.0) 2, Dhobi (9.0) 3* Only starters. Dhobi led to the straight, where Malt King and Prince Foote were together. The latter drew away and won by two lengths and a-half. Time, min 43% sec. Autumn Handicap, a sweepstake of 10 ■sovs. each, with 500 sovs. added (one mile and five furlongs)—Orline (8.5) 1, Carl Dour (7.5) 2, Ungarie (8.5) 3. Also started: Glue, Dunolly, Delaware, Marled, Nushka. At the mile post Delaware led by three lengths from Orline, who was two lengths from Glue, then Carl Dour, and Ungarie last. Orline went to ,the front at the abattoirs from Delaware, Glue and Ungarie, and, making a .fast run, Orline le<T'into the straight, and won by two lengths. Time, 2min 52sec. Received 3, 8.15 p.m. Fiemington March 3. Nursery Handicap, of 3 sovs. each, with 300 sovs. added (six furlongs)— Danaus (7.12) 1, Golden Point (6.12) 2, Saori (7.4) 3. Six others started. Won by a short head, with three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, lmin 17V«sec. Loch Plate, a sweepstake of 5 sovs. each, with 500 sovs. added (two miles) — ' Moruga 1, Diabolo 2, Flavian 3. Lord i Noian also started. Diabolo led from i Moruga to the six-furlong post, where Moruga ran up level. Flavian was next to lead for another furlong, and Moruga took the lead from Flavian! - Moruga maintained the lead, winning from Diabolo under the whip by a length and three-quarters, with two lengths and a half between second and third. "MOTUROA'S" NOTES. (Special to "News"). Wanganui, Last Night. The Cup was a splendid contest. Sedition led Lady Medallist for six furlongs, Roosevelt lying last. Then Lady Medallist took up' the running to the home turn, where Diabolo, Lady Lucy, Milan and Osiris challenged the leaders. Milan finished very fast, winning easily from Osiris. Diabolo was a close third. Then came Uhlando and Lady Lusy, whose saddle slipped in the home turn, spoiling her chance. The Flying Handicap was a great race, the favorite, North-East, splendidly ridden, catching Tumut a dozen yards from home and winning By the narrowest mar^ft, ..Boanerges finishing a fast third.
