| WEBSTER BROS. 'REPORT. Poultry.—At the -Mart on Saturday we -had 'a fai r entry of poultry, the heavy rain preventing many coming forward. E. Selby at his residence, South road. Fruit.—Supplies have come forward in large quantities during the past week, pears being in good supply and good prices ruling. On Wednesday we held a furniture sale on account of Mrs. M. A. Clarke. /There was a large attendance, and prices throughout were satisfactory. DAIRY PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs.. J. B. MacEwan and Co. report: — Butter. —The total of shipments from the opening of the dairy season, Ist September, is 12,794 tons, as compared with 11.053 tons for the same period last season, an increase of 16 per cent. Latest cables from the British markets advise that best New Zealand brands were selling at an average of 117s. Prices are again expected to advance. Cheese. —The total of shipments from the opening of the dairy season, Ist September, is' 13,04G tons, as compared with 11,072 tons for the same period last season, an increase of 27 per cent. Latest cables from the British markets advise that best New Zealand brands were selling at 59s (kl to GOs. Conditions are favorable, and we are hopeful that prices will still advance. The weather continues favorable in most districts, and the milk supply is being well maintained. NEW PLYMOUTH RETAIL PRICES. Butchers' Meat.
