LORD KITCHENER'S TOUR.
TIIE FIELD-MARSHAL'S AIUIANGEME.\ :'S. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Tuesday. . Lord Kitc&ener, accompanied \>y the Premier and the military authorities, made a harbor trip this morning. The military features and possibilities were closely studied. Yord Kitchener and party landed at Fort Cautley, and inspected the proposed sites for the new 6.7-inch guns. The. Field-Marshal inspected Xo. 2 Garrison Company there, and at Fort Takapuna inspected No. 3 Company G.A.V., of which he is honorary member. From the manner in ■which Lord "Kitchener studied >l*' charts and localities, it was evident that he was fully impressed with tb>' importance of the port and its defence. VETERANS' AND CADETS' PARADE. Auckland, Last Night. There was an immense gathering of the public at the Domain this afternoon to witness the inspection of the cadets by Lord kitchener. Tncre were 400.5 cadets of all ranks on parade. Two troops of returned South African soldiers paraded (one troop being under Captain K'nvvett in the capacity of an ex-officer of the Queensland Bushmen's 1 Contingent), and the veterans' Association and the "resident veterans of the Veterans' ■ Home were also present. Lord Kitchener was much interested in the cadets, and the veterans also attracted much of liis notice. He chatted with nearly every individual veteran, asking all out his medals and engagements. A FORTNIGHT'S TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND. t Auckland. Last Night. At the conelusfon of his official visit to New 'Zealand on Thursday, Lord Kitchener will undertake a fortnight's privafe tour of the dominion. It is pretty certain that tie will go to liotorua, but his itinerary has not been disclosed.
