METHODIST CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association, i Dunedin, Last Night. At the Methodist Conference this afternoon, the Rev. J. N. Buttle was reappointed Foreign Mission secretary and treasurer for New Zealand. It was resolved to request the General Committee at Sydney to appoint the Rev. J. W. Burton to New Zealand should i;e .retire from mission work in 1011. The second reading oi stations takes plane to-morrow. There .was no public sitting of the Conference this evening. DENGUE FEVER. Wellington, Tuesday. The Hauroto arrived early this morning from Tahiti. When at" Papeete an epidemic of dengue fever had broken out among the population and by some means had teen carried to Rarotonga. During"the ship's voyage to Wellington Purser M. P. Caffin also developed tl:e lever, which is very similar in general characteristics to influenza in aente form. Mr. is now progressing satisfactorily. The Hauroto's fruit cargo is not very large. DECEASED PERSONS' ESTATES. Wellington, Tuesday. The estates of 174 deceased persons were certified for stamp duty ditrng February, the largest being that of John Jackson, ot Christehurcli, £130.3(i".
