PEOPLE OF THE RURAL CLASSES NEEDED. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Received March 1, 10.57 p.m. London, February 28. Sir George Reid, referring in an interview to immigration, said Australia's attractions for the right kind of immigrants were so vast and solid that there was no need to adopt methods of ex aggeration. The populations in all the Australian capitals were quite out of proportion to that of the interior o the States. The stream of artisan immigrants was very questionable compared with the stream of agricultural immigrants. "We nius't have a vigoroifc system of immigration of people belonging to the rural classes."
