Mr. A. do Brandon was yesterday reelected chairman of the Wellington College Board of Governors. Mr. C. 11. Dixon, of the Wellington office, is in charge of the local Deeds Office during the absence of Mr. A. V. Sturtevant on leave. A cablegram reports the death of Mr. Percy Duller, son of the late Sir Walter Buller, at Mentone, France. He was formerly a solicitor in Wellington. Mr. F. G. Kimbell, manager of the New Plymouth branch of the Bank of Australasia, has received notice of promotion to Ilawern, where he will have charge of the local branch and several agencies. Sir Robert Stout, on being interviewed «t Dunedin, said his health had been thoroughly re-established as the result of the operation performed in London by Sir Watson Cheyne, the famous specialist. The Chief Justice resumes duty on Friday immediately on arrival at Wellington by the Moeraki. Lady Stout returns to the dominion at the end of the year. Mr. J. Swanson was last night the recipient of a handsome travelling-bag, suitably inscribed, from tTie members ot the. New Plymouth Swimming Club prior to his departure to the Old Country, lie has since his' arrival here been closely identified with swimming, and has always been ready to assist the sport in any manner within his power. A Wellington telegram states that Kenneth Sisam, of Auckland, was yesterday elected as the New Zealand Rhodes Scholar for 1910. Sis'am wag born at Opotiki in 1887, and has lived at Whakatane for the past 20 years. He went to the Auckland Grammar School in 1000, passed the Senior Civil Service examination four years later, and in 1903 took a junior University scholarship. He entered the Auckland University in 190(1, and for four years has 'been the most brilliant student there. He recently secured his' M.A. degree, with first-class honors in English and Latin. Sisam has an excellent athletic record.
