AMUSEMENTS.

A WELCOME ATTRACTION. " THE SCARLET TROUBADOURS. Mr. Edward Branscombe in presenting the Scarlet Troubadours, after a most successful tour through Australia, has succeeded in appealing not only to the taste of those who enjoy good music, but also to those who enjoy good music enliglrtened by the introduction of refined music and harmless mirth. Noting the popularity of humorous numbers contributed by the male quartet who accompanied the Westminster Glee Singers while on tour -with Mr. Branscombe, he has' included a most excellent quartet with the Scarlet Troubadours, and their work will be confined to musical comicalities and melodious numbers of an eccentric nature, and these are further enhanced in their attractiveness by the introduction of suitable costumes and action. Two of the members of this quartet were with fhe famous Meister Glee Singers, a combination admitted to be the finest in the world. There are, in addition, two ladies and two -humorists with the iparty,'and all enjoy London reputations. We hear that the Troubadoiirs have scored immense success, and have been performing to overflowing and delighted audiences. The Melbourne Argus, describing one of their performances, says: " Thos'e who are seeking surcease from the typical musichall, the alleged comic opera, and the staid formality of the concert, can rest their weary feelings at the Scarlet Trou badours; indeed, they can have fhem as good as new." K further testimony be required, the fact that these vocalists are under the direction of Mr. Edward Branscombe should itself be" sufficient guarantee as fegards refinement, artistic merit, and musical excellence. The Troubadours are to open at the Theatre Royal on Thursday night, and for positively two nights' only. As this attraction promises to • drar immense audiences the management advi--" natTons to make early application at !'' "s box office for reserved seats, which are now open at Collier and Co.'s.
