HEWITT'S PICTURES. After an absence of three nights "Hewitt's" re-opened at the Theatre Royal last night with another complete change of programme. The main features of this entertainment are the excellence and diversity 01 the subjects and the clear portrayal on the screen, even the smallest details of the pictures being distinctly visible. The programme submitted last night was right up to "Hewitt's" high standard. Among th:' •scenic picture's, "Fishguard Harbor" and "Historic Oxford" were perhaps the best. Among the dramatic films, "The Escape of De la Valette" and ""Love wins at Last" took the popular fancy most, the seascape picture in the lat'.er picture, where the breakers dash on th* rocks, threatening to overwhelm the shipwrecked fisherman, being a remarkably fine effect. A sporting ite:n. "Snow ski-ing in Christiana" showed very vividly the skill required for this fascinating though somewhat dnng-T----ous pastime. The Coniic element w>.s as usual well catered for. The nr v gramme will be repeated to-night.
