At the conclusion of the toununncui at Eltham on. Thursday, the president o: the Elt'uam Club, Mr. H. G. Carman, presented thar shield to the skip of tho .winning team, congratulating him upon his victory and expressing the opinion that the fiest team had won. In if.sponse, Mr. A. K. He said he was an old bowler, and the only one of the original members of the New Plymouth Club who was now 'eft in it. In a sense he was vvyr'g to hold the position of the late Mr. ■Paul, one of the whitest men who ewr 'trod a Dowiing green.
