L t Bv Telegraph.—Press' Association. , Chri.stehurch, Last Night. , In connection with the finding on the 1 North New Brighton beach on Thursday of a number of lifebelts by X. ■!«- hansen, the finder brought one of the lifebelts to the office of the Evening News to-dav. Jt was of ordinary make, consisting of blocks of cork covered' with white material like duck, with •straps through wlhich to ,place the arms. On portions of the lifebelt were ma'.'lcings in purpip ink, and they appeared i to have Keen put on by means of a stencil. To the naked eye the marks were prnctfailly undecipherable,, and even when a magniiving glass was used the letters were far from being distinct. After considerable examination i it was thought that the word "Duoo" I could be made out, but the marks are ' 60 indistinct that the examiners eou'd not be certain that they had correctly interpreted them. ' j "Johansen stated that in all he has picked up thirty lifebelts.
