Sir. X. .1. K\ l} g has iired the iir.st shot in the Mayoral campaign by anno;moing_his candidature. Other candidates are busy, and as an indication that it i« to ho a hard-fought contest the Town Hall has been hooked for the night prior to the election.
Mr. Anderson, Inspector of Orchards. Ti.»itort Stratford to-day. I hear that some twenty informations have been laid against residents of this town and district for breaches or the >*i>xious "»feisTs Act. The cases will conic on nt the next sitting of the Court.
Mr. C. J. Walker, Inspector for the Underwriters' Association, is paying his annua! visit to Stratford.
Whilst conveying Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery ;iih! two children along th" Toko road last night, the cab, in passing b milk cart, wont over an embankment find capsized. With the exception of alew bruises the occupants escaped i/ninjiircii. but the cab was badly damaged.
