The Rosamond arrived from Wellington, Picton and Nelson yesterday, after a long pasage of seventeen hours from ■the latter port. She discharged only 30 tons of cargo at this port and sailed at 2.30 p.m. for Onehunga. She returns to-morrow and loads for Wellington.
. COAL FOR NEW PLYMOUTH. The Kotuku is due here from Greymoutn to-morrow. She will have about 400 tons of coal to discharge here. LOADING AT WAITARA. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Paparoa will be the next vessel to 10-ui fir" the Waitara roadstead and is l ie some time next week. From Waitara the Paparoa proceeds to Nelson an:l Picton for Homeward loading. SHOAL REPORTED AT WAITARA. As a considerable number of buovs require attetnion at Kaipara, the Government steamer Hinemoa will probably be there for some days yet before leaving for Manukau. After completing operations at Manukau her captain has instructions to proceed to Waitara to endeavor to locate a reported shoal in the roadstead. A NEW STEAMER. It is reported that the New Zealand Shipping Co. have contracted with Messrs Anderson, Rodger and Co.. r,f Port Glasgow, for the construction of a steamer for the New Zealand c>s>! trade. She is to be 225 ft by 33ft bv ,10ft- Sin. and will carry about 1500 t.ms dead-weight. MORE CHARTERS.
