SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By lele&fiiT>Tt.—Press Association. Wellington, bast Xi.crbt. Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are as follow: —Easterly sales have prevailed north of East Cape and Rawhia, with heavy rain last night, hut lighter and misty rain to-day. Moderate to strong easterly winds and muggy •weather have been experienced elsewhere. Present indications are for a continuance of high easterly and southeasterly winds, and an extension of the storm area still further southward. Cloudy and unsettled weather is prob«aT>le generally, with heavy rain in many parts of the -North Island. The barometer will probably fall steadily everywhere.
