Bates' summary and forecast are as follow:-The barometer has fallen everywhere, and especially in the far north, where "easterly gales and squally weather have been experienced to-day. Elsewhere fine, but hazy, weather and 'light and variable winds are reported. • Present indications are for a falling barometer everywhere, warm and hazy conditions preceding unsettled and cloudy weather generally, easterly and northerly winds freshening strong to gale gradually everywhere.
