"MISS HOOK OF HOLLAND."
In criticising the first production hi New York of the celebrated Dutch musical play, ■' Miss Hook of Holland," Allan Dale, the acknowledged prince of American critics, wrote:—"Dazzlingand lurid are the proper terms to apply to 'Mis's Hook of Holland.' It is musical comedy at its perihelion, a medley of merriment and ludicrousness that is unapproachable by any recent production of its class, lit is difficult to conceive of anything quainter or more melodious than this. It is one. long revelry, and one of the best that musical genius stagecraft, costumer and lyrist can produce. It is a panorama of brilliant stage scenes, and a feast for the eye which loves the bizarre and the beautiful. It conforms to the usual musical comedy form as to acts, there being two, but,in these two acts we have gems of stage pictures'. In scenic investiture alone the comedy is notable." The booking is very large and the season here promises to be a most successful one.
