BOWLING.
There is a feeling amdhg bowlers that if possible something should be done fty the executive to prevent the necessity of next week's tournament extending over three days. A fourth may prove the " last straw"—it demands to© much sacrifice of time to people in business, and most of the competitors are in thi. position. Various suggestions' lave been talked over by Hawera bowlers. One among others worth considering is that the programme should be arranged for ten teams to compete at each round. Pihama and their opponents would occupy but one rink, and it might be arranged for two other clubs to' do so 'each day, the decision being made -bj lot This would nermit of all competi-, tors being engaged on the eight-nrij oreen, and would, moveover avoid all byes Perhaps' on consideration some better plan may suggest itself. It is, however,"very desirable that the tournament should be kept within the limits, ■ of three days, aad ao doubt the execu* tive will see what can, be done.
