In the Supreme Court case in which the Board of Governors of Canterbury College claimed from the Minister of I'ublic Works a sum of £3813 compensation for lands at Craigieburn taken for road and railway purposes in connection with the Midland Railway, the point was argued whether the. Crown's right under a Crown grant to take land for road and railway purposes had lapsd.
