granted. RANGERS' REPORTS.
H. T. Twiss, Crown Lands Ranger, i reported on sections 0, 10 and 22, j Tongaporutu Village.—lt decided j to approve the suggestion to cut them \ into smaller sections, and to leave the ! matter in the hands of the Commis-; sioner. .
A report from the ranger on section 2, block 10, Upper Waitara, originally an education reserve, was adopted, and it was decided to offer the land foi selection under part 3 of the Land Act, 1908.
Mr. Twiss also reported on the application of the Whangamomona County Council to pledge thirds for payment of interest on loan on the Whangamomona road. —Resolved that the necessary certificate be issued. ' The ranger also reported upon his in- ! spection of unsurveyei Crown land in blocks 10 and 15, Waro.—Resolved that the matter be gone into as soon as the. field staff is available for undertaking the survey. E. Tolme, Crown Lands Ranger, reported that H. E. Lewis had fenced in part of Aria township, and applied for j a tenancy.—The report was adopted add a tenancy granted subject to one month's notice. NON-COMPLIANCE WITH CON- j DITIONS. j A list of selectors who had not complied with the conditions of residence or of improvements was laid on the, table. Action was taken as follows: —j W. F. A. Harrison, section 20, block 5, Ohura, residence. —Resolved that the statutory three months' notice be given to the Advances to Settlers' Office, as mortgagee, of the intention of the Board to forfeit the interest of this selector.
Hagenson and Scott, section 2. block 3, Waro, residence.—Resolved that one of the partners must be residing in a bona fide manner within three months or the land will be forfeited. C. C. Neilsen, sections 0 and 7, block 7. Waro, residence. —Resolved that the selector must be residing within six months in a bona fide manner or his interest will be forfeited. MISCELLANEOUS. H. C. Roadley appealed against the forfeiture of section !), block 1. Pouatau. —Forfeiture confirmed. J. K. Collett applied for extension of time to effect deficient improvements on section 10, block 5, Egmont.—Resolved that the improvements required be brought up to date during the coming bush-falling season, to be completed by November 15. H. T. Twiss, Crown Lands Ranger, reported on the application of J. Hutchins for an extension of his lease of section 1, block 13, Mimi, and submitted a valuation for improvements. — The Board declined to deal with the matter at present. A plan of the deviation of the Parakoko road in block 1, Aria, was laid on the table. —Resolved, that the titte be amended accordingly. The Board granted an application. by A. C. Jones tor section 15, block !', Opaku, !)40ac. 3r. 33p., o.r.p. The Under-Secretary for Lands wfOVe 'siiffTcsting that the valuation for fell;in"'and grassing run No. 12, Opaku, be included in the capital value.—Approved. E. Hunt applied for permission to eub-let section 05, block 4, Paritutu, to G. Hunt, for two years.—Approved, provided papers are in order. J. Kodgers, section 12, block 13, Ohura. wrote explaining his reason for wishing to transfer part interest to his sons.—Application refused. J. C. Valkes, selector of section 7, block 2, Ohura, applied for his lease it) issue.—Granted.
A letter was received from Messrs Bvoadfoot find Finlay, on behalf of A. McPhee. asking to withhold taking any steps re rent on section 5, block 1?., Aria, till the March meeting of the Board.—Consideration deferred. J. F. Williamson wrote that he -would continue in temporarv occupation of section 12, block 14, Opaku, until the land is re-selected—Resolved that the tenancy be approved. W. and E. Derrett stated that they would continue in temporary occupation of section 15, block 0, Opaku, provided that they were given one month's notice when the land is re-selected.— that as an application for the land had been lodged a month's notice of nomination of tenancy be given. Angus Mclntyre applied for the unimproved value of section 2, block 2, Totoro, to be reduced, as there is no fencing timber on the section, and a road srocs through the best part of it. Archibald Mclntyre asked that the
price of section 1. block 2. Totoro, be reduced to £1 per acre tor the same reason.—Resolved that the Board was unable to grant the request. C. Smith, s-ctiou !•">. bb:ck 2. Aria, appealed against the forfeiture of the section.—Resolved that the forfeiture be confirmed, and the land re-offered tor selection upon a report of the ranger. L. H. James, section 5, block 5.
