DUXEDTX .SESSIONS. By Telegraph.---Press Association. Dunedin, Last Xight. At the Supreme Court to-day John Harry Turner, charged with carnally knowing a girl tinder 10, pleaded guilty, but s£id the girl led him to believe she was over 111. This was taken as a plea of not guilty. After evidence had been given, the jury was unable to agree. Accused was' remanded until next criminal sittings, a#d was released on his own recognisance of £2.">. Francis Pa ton Philp, found guilty yesterday of the theft of a mare, saddle and bridle, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment, Alexander McLennan was found not guilty on a charge' of vagrancy. George T. Buckley, found guilty yesterday of carnally knowing a girl under 16, came up for sentence. Judge Williams' said this was an exceptional case, and accused was admitted to probation for twelve months, and ordered to pay' 2s (id per week towards the cost of the prosecution.
