A "Maori woman was killed at KakatillK on the Panipara road, on Sunday afternoon, by falling over a elitf. She died in a few minutes. Details are meagre. The Acting-Coroner, police ollicials. and a doctor left to-day to hold an inquest. WOMAN SEVERELY BURXED. DunediTi, Last Night. A woman named Lucy Channer, aged 7:) years, residing in a throe-roomed cottage in Castle Street, set fire to herself this evening by overturning a lighted candle. She was alone in the house at the time, and was evidently unable to find her way out. When discovered her clothes were practically burned on" her, and her body was in places very badly charred. She was removed to the hospital in a serious condition. SUDDEX DEATH. Chris'tcluirch, Last Xight. A man named Bennett, about 30 years of age, died suddenly at Spye, near Aniberley, last night. He was a strange in the district, and had been employed for three days as cook by James Dalziell, a road contractor. DEATH OF MR. FRO.MOXT. E. E. Fromont, the victim of the recent railway accident at the local station, died at the hospital yesterday morning. An inquest before Mr. H. S. Fitzherbert. S.M., will be opened on Thursday morning.
