SOME NEW LAND SURVEYED.

Paris, February 15. The Charcot expedition completed i:.c map to Adelaide Island, and surveyed new land 120 miles long before wintering at Petermaini Maud. Durino- the second Antan-'ic summer they explored the South Shetland*, and then went 10 the South , f Alexander I. Land. Lamin the voyage collisions with the herd's caused a leak, which it was impossible to repair. Two tons of 'water an hour entered, necessitating, pumping throughout the voyage. The crew suffered from scurvy and heart trouble.
