The sale was very.,, successful, ,and prices, .obtained,,compared favorably with and ,in some cases, .were bettor than,, tfrbse,.ruling, at the January sale. Generally speaking, .however, and having regard' „to prices were just about level 'with those of last month. ' The catalogue totalled 16,536 bales',' nearly all of which were gold. There was a representative attendance of English, foreign ana local buyers, and bidding was brisk throughout. The milk of' th? wools offering were of coarser crossbred types, which sold in the neighborhood of 9d per lb. A feature of the sale was the manner :n which lambs' wool was competed for. A .good deal of this class was offered, and - »» much as 13d was obtained, the uwiage being 12d to 12% d. Lamb's wool was all eagerly sought for, some buyers having practically no limits for it; Indeed, there was not one neglected line in the whole catalogue. Tn one or two instances growers' ideas of value did not coincide with those of buyers', one line of crossbreds being passed in at 13% d. Prices averaged as follows: Merino, good lOd to 10y 4 d. medium 0y t d to 9V 2 n, inferior 8 1 />d to B%d; half-bred, good 11 Vail to I3 1 / 4 d, medium lOd to 10% d, inferior 9d to ny»d; fine crossbred, good nVid" to lOd, medium fid to P l /od, inferior Sy a d to B%d; pieces, good 7d"to lOVid, medium 5V»d to (id, inferior 4y t d to 4%d; locks 3d to 4'/ 3 d; lambs',: good to superior liy>d to 13d, medium lOd to lid', interior and seedy 6y>d.io.
