FUTURE OF AUSTRALIA.
SPEECH BY THE PREMIER. By Came—Press Assooiatinn.—Copyright Melbourne, February 15. Dealing with the financial agreement between the States and the Commonwealth, Mr. Deakin, Federal-. Premier, declared that it would mean a gain of £2,300,000 yearly to the Commonwealth and that it would lift Australia out of difficulties. The policy of the Government was to elope breaches, heal wounds and to unite the States for the welfare of Australia. The future of Australia lay in the depth of the sincerity of its ■union and the obliteration of class prejudice and class legislation. * Regarding Lord Kitchener's visit, the Premier said the Government had appealed to Caesar and would be bound to Caesar's judgment.
