SOMMARY AND FORECAST. By TeletrrnnTi.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Nisiht. Rev. D. C. Bates' summary, and forecast are as follow:—Moderate northerly ■winds and fair but sultry weather has prevailed northward of New Plymouth and Napier. Elsewhere the weather has* been changeable and squally at times, and showery in the far south. The barometer rose in the south during Saturday night, but has fallen steadily since. The present indications are for moderate to strong northerly and westerly winds and a further fall in the foarometer, but a smart rise and a moderate southerly gale, with a change in the weather, may be expected shortly in the south.
