FIRES.

A six-roomed house owned by Mr. J. S. Hinton and occupied by Mr. Harry Ashtrm. was destroyed by fire last night. The origin of the outbreak is unknown. There is an insurance of ££lo on the furniture in the Australian Alliance Office.
Rotorua, Last Night.
A lire broke out in Collett's buildings this morning at, half-past one. The brigade was on the scene, in good time, and, having a. good pressure of water, subdued the flames' in half an hour. The premises were occupied by Chirm, tailor; Parkerson, photographer; and Manson, draper. The .stock of all three shops was badly damaged by water, and part of the shop occupied by Parker son was damaged by lire, which, appears to have originated m the roof. The building is situated opposite the Grand Hotel. Manson and Parkerson are heavy losers. Chirm's stock was not a very large one and was not insured.
