Lord Kitchener, aboard H.M.S. Encounter, departed for New Zealand last night, and was farewelled by a large gathering. He expressed gratification at the hospitality of the Australians, and hoped his recommendations would be found acceptable and suitable ) and that they would do something towards the improvement of the defence of Australia. He presented the representatives of the,senior cadet forces of the various States with colors worked by Lady Dudley.
