SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS.
I «■» The Taranaki School Commissioners' monthly meeting was held yesterday, when Messrs. James Wade (chairman), W. T. Jennings, M.P., and A. Morton were the members present. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. Simpson and Major. The secretary reported having at last been successful in coming into communication with A. Vielson, lessee of section 10, block 8, Ngatimaru who : would surrender in due course. He stated that when the surrender was complete the section would probably be taken by an adjoining owner. | The Board considered voluminous .correspondence in regard to the renewal of a lease held by Mrs'. C. Jackson of a section in the Hurleyville district, the section being subleased to a Mr. Blake. Some misunderstanding had taken place between the lessee and sublessee in the , matter of the arbitration to fix the i rental in the new lease. Neither of the j affected parties approached the Board | direct, and it was decided to take no : action in the matter, other than by replying to the ranger's letter. The treasurer reported a balance of £O9O 18s Od. 1 Applications to transfer leases were j agreed to as under: —Winks' trustees ■ to James Were, section 557, Patea, 57 acres; CI. W. Fargie to Olaf McCntchan, : section 03, block 1, Ma-lioo, 105 acres. I An application to transfer the lease of I some sections on the New Plymouth | town belt was deferred for a month. | Accounts' totalling £2S Is lid were j passed for payment.
