Mr. Deakin, in _ reply to the Daily Mail's inquiry as to his opinion of Mr. Norton Griffiths' proposal with reference to the House of Lords, says he prefers not to criticise a, scheme s'o vague.

Mr. Fisher, Labor leader, cabled that he thought any attempt to drag the dominions into the constitutional dispute between the Lords and Commons was unstatesmanlike and mischievous.

Lord Onsiow, lurther discussing the nuescion of the reform of the Lords, declared that everyone was favorable to the reform of the House. He would welcome representatives from overseas, but it would be difficult to make the proposal acceptable to colonial politicians, who cannot be long absent, and retired politicians get out of touch with the dominions. Moreover, democratic sentiment wan ag?iYn>t titular honors. He suggests instead of the judicial committee that colonial appeals hp decided by the Lords with colonial jurists assisting. He recommends the dominions to discuss the subject and express the opinion how? their interests can i'e voiced in the Imperial Parliament.
