A deadlock has occurred over the election of a Primate. The Archbishops of Sydney and Brisbane each secured eight votes, and the Archbishop of Melbourne three. The Primacy is consequently left in abeyance. Bishop Camdige rs the acting-Primate. In the course of an interview the bishop said lie thought there was no more satisfactory system than the public school system of New South Wales.
