At' about 1.30 o'clock this morning, 350 feet of the northern face of the reclamation area at Freeman's Buy, which is part of the wharf extension scheme, collapsed. Tile face was composed of fcrro-concrefce piles and concrete "slabs. The Harbor Board had been pumping the spoil from the dredge Into the reclamation area and evidently the pressure from the spoil and the water against the face was too heavy, and at low water it gave way, The damage is estimated at not less than £25,000.
