RIFLE SHOOTING.
The following handicaps have been declared for Mr. Messenger's gold medal which the Guards will shoot for to-mor-.row (Thursday) on the local range, the conditions being ten shots each at 000 and 1000 yds: Col.-Sergt. Hartne.'l, Sergt. Oliver, Sergt. Evans. Corp. Bruce, Privates Groveiy Short. Nicholls. Blanchard and King scr., Lieut. Boon and Corp. Bent 2,"Private Hill 3. Corp. Lobb 5, Lieut. Beadle, Corp. Rogers, Privates Johnson and Goodacre 8, Sergt. Arnold, Privates Burrows. Sadler, Lamb, Bennett and Traniour 10, Capt, Mills, Privates Lewis and Sole 12; remainder 15. This shoot also counts as the final shoot for the company's championship ielt. Up to this stage Private Nicholls (the present holder) is leading with 25G, Privates King and Grover being runners up with 254 and 233 respectively.
