GROUNDING OF THE KAIPARA

In regerence to the question of the survey of the Rangitoto Channel, the Minister of Marine says it is not i!ic duty of the Marine Department 10 survey any harbor which is under the, -control of a harbor hoard. In Uie Kaipara case, owing to the desire of the Magistrate to liave an independent surver, enquiries have been made. Mr. Millar adds that there is no man in New Zealand, so far as he knows, whose survey would lie accepted by the Admiralty, who would only alter th« charts 011 the certificate of the survey.»r recognised hv themselves.
