LORD KITCHENER'S TOUR.
DISTRICT ORDERS. Licut.-Col. A. Bauehop, commanding the Wellington district, lias issued the following district orders in connection with the visit of Lord Kitchener: The district troops will be mobilised for inspection by Field-Marshal Lord Kitchener on February 2(J. 1910, at Johnson ville. Camp Site.—Troops should, arrive in camp not later than Friday evening, February 25, 1V)10. Uuiforms.—Field service dress and marching order kit only to be brought , into camp. Pay and Allowances.—The pay and allowances will be on the same .scale as allowed for Easter camps. Defence Cadets.—The Defence Cadets %ill be inspected at the llutt Park on Friday, February 25, 1010. They should arrive in camp not later than Thursday evening 24th (except in ease of Wellington City Cadets). Arrangements will be made for the rationing of these cadets', Approximate Number—The O.C. Corps( battalions atid regiments) will inform the O.C. District, as early as possible, of the approximate number they expect to bring into camp. Train Arrangements.—A detailed oridei'j showing train arrangements, will be issued later. It is expected that train arrangements will be made to admit of the troops arriving- back at their homes' on Monday morning by 9 a.m. at latest. Rations.—Fresh meat will not be supplied. and it will therefore not be necessary for regiments and battalions to bring cooks to camp. Harbour Defence Troops.—The Harbour Defence troops will go into camp on Thursday, 24th, and will be inspected on Friday, February 25, 1910. Definite time of inspection not known. Officers of Active List.—Officers of the Active List desirious of attending camp may, with the permission of the officer commanding, attach themselves to any regiment battalion: in which case they will be available for duty with fsueh regiment or battalion and under the orders of the regimental or battalion commander. Such officers of Active List only as may be especially requested will be attached to the District Staff for duty. It is probable the train arrangements will be altered to enable volunteers from Jvcw Plymouth to return not. later than fi.3o on Monday morning, Representations' have been made in this direction.
