Bates this evening issues the following weather summary (and forecast: " Heavy rain has fallen in taost parts of the dominion. The low pressure area has extended over the Whole country, and the high pressure how due in the south has not yet s'hown (definite signs of development, and is probably decreasing. Present indications are for further unsettled weather, teolder and "wet generally. The barotaeter will probably continue low in the north for several hours, but rise fast in the south shortly. Strong westerly toinds will probably prevail north of New Plymouth and Napier, and a Southeasterly gale elsewhere.
