Prices were a .-hade lower, as is to be expected at tills season of the year. Prices as under: Old hens Is to Is 3d, good young do. up to Is lOd. pullets in good demand up to 2s Od, and likely to advance. Chicks 4d to Od, ducklings Od to 9d, ducks Is Od to 2s, turkey gobblers (poor) 3s Od to 4s Od. Sundries in the mart sold at usual rates. Meat—The usual weekly meat sale was again well patronised, and prices ruled well in favor of buyers as follows.—Beef: Ribs 2d to 2y s d. prime to 3d, sirloin 3d to 4d, rougher roasts 2d, rump 2y 2 d to 3y,d. Lamb: Hindquarters 3s Od to 4s' 3d, forequarters 3s to 3s Od. Mutton: Forequarters 2d to 2V 3 "d, legs 3M;d to 4 1 / 3 d, loin 2>/ g d to 3V»d. Stock.—At our Omata yards we held our usual fortnightly sale, which was well attended, and there was a good entry. Prices as follows: Fat cows £4 to £4 2s, bulls £2 18,s to £3 lGs', springing heifers. £3 10s to £4, store cows £5 Is to £3 ss, steers £ Is to '£4 Bs. Fruit.—We have had a record week in this department as regards quantity, over 2200 boxes' of all classes of fruit having come forward and been disposed of during the week. Burbank plums have caused a glut, the market being quite overdone, and low prices ruling for them in consequence. Good fruit of all kinds still commands good prices. There was a good yarding of cattle I iii our lnglewood yards on Wednesday. ADDiNGTOX. At Addington then' were fairly large entries aud a larg-- aitendan.-e. Store Sheep: A few lines of 2 and 4tooth ewes showed an upward tendency in values. There were 4757 fat lambs penned. Prices' ranged from 10s Od to 12s Od for light to average weight freezers, and 13s to 14s for heavier weights and tegs. There was a moderate yarding of fat sheep, and Avetliers were in good demand for freezing at firm rates, while ewes 'sold better in consequence of a shorter supply. The range of prices was: Prime wethers 15*' to 17s, others 12s lid to_ 14s 9d; prime ewes Us Od to 14s Gd ; | others 9s to lis. } The supply of beef totalled 187 head ot fair average quality. Steers made £7 5s to £9 ss, heifers £5 us to £7 | 10s, and cows '£s to £S ss—equal to i 20s to 22s for prime, 18s Od to 19s Gd for medium, and 17s to 18s for cow and inferior beef per 1001b. , Veal calves made 4s Gd to 50s, accord- I 'ing to size and condition. _ A moderate yarding -of store cattle met with fair demand at ratter better prices. Competition was keen, and prices showed an advance on late rates. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., reporting on their Wanganui sale on Wednesday, state tkat 2700 sheep and GO cattle 'were yarded, aud there was a good attendance of buyers. The firm cleared all but two pens of sheep at full market rates. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as fol.lows:—At our stole on Wednesday we .offered an exceptionally heavy yarding .of sheep, about 3300 of all sorts being penned, besides a good entry of prime ■bullocks. We experienced a good de'niand for both fat and store sheep, and everything offered was sold under the hammer, except a line of aged ewes. Breeding ewes were in strong dmand, and good lines made top prices.
