A special inquiry is' being held into the running away of a goods train between Lariccftekl and suntmry. i<or some unexplained reason the brakes failed, and the train travelled 60 miles an hour. A departmental foreman, who was travelling in the guard's van, pluekily climbed front truck to truck and put on the hand brakes, and so brought the train to a standstill.
