THE WEATHER.
' SUMMARY AND FORECAST, By Tele£r:rnfi.— Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are as follows: —A smart westerly disturbance pa-'sed in the south on Wednesday evening, and to-day the ■winds have been generally variable, with liazv and cloudy weather. Since 9 a.m. the barometer has fallen two-tenths at Cape Campbell, but has risen over onetenth at Napier. Present indications are somewhat ominous of a change developing, a falling barometer with variable winds, increasing cloudiness, and misty rain in parts, probably preceding a strong southerly with stormy weathei. The barometer will probably rise in the south by to-morrow evening.
