AT THE ISLANDS.

By Telegraph.—Press' Association. Auckland, Wednesday. Two of the oilicers and crew of the Norwegian lmrque Amicus arrived ky the Tofua to-day. They report that the Amicus, which was bound for Ham- 1 burg laden with <t)pra, struck a reef at Ilaapai Harbor, and was beached. A ■shore gang was employed discharging the cargo when the vessel caught fire, *- presumably from aa explosion among the cargo. The hull was completely gutted. The captain remained at Haapai. 'One of the crew of the wrecked vessel, named IVder Ilalvoisn, disappeared from the Tofua while in the Islands, and it is supposed he was drowned.

Auckland, Last Night. The name of the barque wrecked at ilaapai on January 14th is the Imacos, and was commanded by Captain (Jrandsen. Part of her cargo was j' ; and was sold bv auction for 1'285. 'iW vessel was insured for <£3,000 and her cargo for C-0.0IH).
