AUCKLAND AGITATION FOR INQUIRY. By Teli-jjrapti.—Press Association. Auckland, January 18. Mr. Vernon Reed, member lor ihe Bay of Jblands, has initiated au agitation, the object of which is to induce the Government to constitute a Royal Commission to inquire into the control of the duiinion's forces. A telegram signed by Messrs. Reid, ISaunie, l'oole, Giover and Poland, M.L'.s, was dispatched today to the Prime Minister. Jt says: " In view of the early operation of tlie Defence Act, an exhaustive inquiry should be held by Royal Commission into all matters pertaining to the administration generally by the executive officers of the Defence Department."
