POLLARD'S MERRY MIDGET CO. Tho advent of Pollard's Merry Midget Company who open their season on Monday next at the Theatre Royal will doubtless be doubly welcomed by playgoers and the public generally Apart from the charming freshness and brigut originality claimed for their performances, which embrace a great variety of itenis—gems from comic opera, musical comedy, pantomime and vaudeville—a fine note of patriotism is struck in the concluding item on their programme, the stirring and dramatic naval episode of "Trafalgar, or The Death of Nelson." Illustrated with beautiful scenery painted by Mr. ,T. J. Uieketts comprising "The Deck of The Victory," "Nelson's Dream," and "The Battle of Trafalgar," the whole concludes with a magnificent tableau of "The Death of Nelson." This exciting little drama has been specially written up by Mr. D. H. Souter (the well-known artist and Bulletin contributor), and a feature is made of the old English nautical songs tnd chorus. The ballets are invented and produced by Miss Alice Mitchell (late of His Majesty's Theatre, Sydney), and the beautiful and historical correct costumes are made by Mrs Kelly of Sydney. At a time like the present when so much depends upoii the supremacy of Britain upon the seas, this stirring and historical episode should go far in arousing that spirit of patriotism upon which the Empire depends. Although such a large and expensive combination, the management announce popular prices. "She box plan is now open at Collier's music shop.
