The body found on the beach baa been identified m Lilian Mote, a married -- 'flfunta. ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. Ohristchurch, Last Night. James Mawson, twenty years of age, was shot in the thigh accidentally at trwell to-day, and was brought to the hospital by Dr. Nathan in his motorcar! Mawson was standing near a ■ friend who was .endeavoring to discharge a rifle, but the rifle had jammed and was eventually laid down. At that moment it. went off, and Mawson received the bullet in his leg at very short range. An operation to extract the bullet was performed this afternoon.

THE NORMANBY FATALITY. Mr. C. E. Major, District Coroner, on Wednesday evening held an enquiry touching the death of Herbert J. Pullinger, who was on Wednesday morning found drowned in an 18-inch pool of water at Normanby. C. Barnett gave evidence of the identification of the body, which was found lying in the pool face downwards. He deposed that there were no marks of violence. W. J. Dew stated that he believed deceased »as subject to epileptic fits, and had to pass the pool on his way to work. The Coroner returned a verdict that the deceased came to his death by drowning during a supposed epileptic fit,—€tar.

THROWN FROM A HORSE. The Kapuni correspondent of the Bawera Star stated yesterday that a young man named James Bebe was' that morning thrown from his horse, and is at present lying unconscious.
