r 9 * ( SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Xdegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following is the Rev. C. D. Bates' summary and forecast:—Rain has fallen in the southern districts, and westerly gales have been experienced about Cook and Fovraux Straits. Tne barometer has been very unsteady, and fallen low in the south to-day. The present indications are for stormy weather, especially southward of Kawhia and Castlepoint, strong westerlies prevailing northwards and high northerlies in the south, with a falling barometer everywhere. Unsettled, hazy, and cloudy weather probable generally, and rain southward of Kawhia and Castlepoint.
