THE NEW BATTLESHIPS. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, December 27. The two battleships which arc being built by contract, included in this year's programme, will be named the Herculrs and the Colossus. The name Orion, which is to be given io the battleship building at Portsmouth, was introduced in the navy list in 178/. The Orion armored cruiser building at Devonport is the fifteen'h ship of that name. Other,cruisers of the four contingent. Dreadnoughts are to be the C'onquerir, Monarch, Princess Royal and Thnnderer. The Navy League has issued a postsr to the effect that even- candidate who refuses to aeept the two keels to one standard, is a traitor to the count 1 .-,-, i and urges the electors to drop pariy and vote fn r a supreme navy. Mr. .1. T. Middlemore, M.P., states that while all the German 1000-10 destroyers have been ordered and three competed, none of the British have been laid down. The Government's conduct was treasonable, since M\ MoKcnna in April had not denied tint Germany had 06 destroyers under twelve years of age to Britain's 83.
