The Central School Committee met last night. Present: Mr. P. P. Corkill (chairman), Revs. Osborne and Evans, Messrs. Grant, McGahey, Ruad, Way and Renaud.
The inspector's! report on the examination of the school was read, and was considered very satisfactory. j The following report was received in connection with the school gardens: "Dato of visit, October 20th. Present, 41 boys. General order very good; plots nicely laid out, and many of the seeds sown previous to my visit. A very pleasing improvement noticeable." 'Mr. Derapsey was congratulated on the success attained at the recent bazaar, and a formal letter will be sent to him to that effect.
The system adopted during the past few years of allotting marks for prizes was discussed and considered very satisfactory.
The question of the shifting of the school was brought up, the general opinion being that the proportion of pupil teachers was unduly large. It was decided to communicate with the Education Department and the Education Board on the matter.
The revised conditions of the caretaker's appointment were adopted, and fresh applications will be called for the position,
