The 'turbines installed at the iisw factory of the Eltham Dairy Company were started to work on Friday and they proved most satisfactory, it is estimated that the turbines will mean a saving of about £1 per day in the working of the factory as compared with the steam plant.—Argus. The Kaiapo orchard (H. 8.) laet year yielded 10,000 cases. This year fully 40,000 cases are ,in sight, ■which exceeds the whole output of the H.B. Fruitgrowers' Association for last year. At the present time between 30 and 40 hands are engaged, and by the end of January over 100 will be required. For November month's operations the Ngaire Dairy Co. pay out to suppliers £2958, Cardiff £I9OO, and Lowgarth £IBO7. It is estimated r oy a Southern contemporary that if the output of cheese from Southland this year (9543 cases) i 6 sold at fid per lb, this season's output in Southland up to date will have yielded £9849 12s more than last year's, and even at 5%d per lb the increase will lie £9029 2s.
