At Stratford on Tuesday there was a large entry of cattle, bidding was brisk, and good prices were realised. Bullocks were in strong demand, and sold readily at the hammer. There was only a moderate entry of cattle in our Inglewood yards on Wednesday. Forward wethers showed no change in values, and there was also a good enquiry for medium sorts, but inferior wore duller of sale. Prices on the whole for finished lambs i were 6d to Od per head better than' those last week. Wethers, though easier, maintained their values fairly well. The range of prices was: Prime' wethers 13s 6d to 16s, lighter lis 13s; prime ewes lis 0d to 14s Oil, medium 9s to lis, others 6s to 8s lOd; merino wethers 8s lid to lis' 3d.

The supply of beef comprised 60 liead, and prices were easier by Gd per 1001b. Steers made £7 2s Gd to £lO 2s (id, heifers £o to £7 17s Gd (extra to £9 ss), cows £4 lis 9d to £7 10s. These rates were equal to 20s to 22s od per 1001b for prime, 17s Gd to 20s for medium, and 17s for cow and inferior beef. There was only a small yarding of store cattle, but what was offered was in good demand at improved prices. Calves made 15s to 18s, 15 to 18-montlis 39s to £2 15s, 2-year steers £3 13s to £3 19s, dry cows 3os to £4 13s. A line of aged cows made £a. sairy cowi sold at £3 10s to £8 7s Od, and extra to £9 17s.

There was a fair entry of pigs, and a very dull sale at last week's prices. Choppers sold at 535, heavy weaners 42s to 48s, and lighter 35s Od to 40e. The prices were equal to 3'/ 2 d to 3%d per lb. Large porkers 30s to 38s, lighter 24s to 28s—equal to 4%d to 4'/ 2 d per lb; large stores 24s to 28s, smaller 10s to 20s, small weaners 9s to 12s 6d, larger do. lus to 18s Od.

DUNEDIN. At Burnside stock market 240 head of fat cattle were yarded, consisting principally of average quality. The sale was dull, and prices were a shade easier than those ruling last week. Best bullocks £lO to £ll as, medium £7 10s to £8 10s, best heifers and cows to £7, medium £.5. Fat Sheep: 2702 penned, principally shorn, with a good proportion of ewes. Prices for prime quality were about equal to las't week's rates, but unfinished sorts and ewes showed a decline of about Is per head. Uest shorn wethers Ms Gd to IBs, medium 12s to 13s, best shorn owes lis Od to 12s Od, average quality 10s, best wool wethers 20s to 21s, ewes los to 17s fid. Lambs: 300 penned. The sale opened dull, but owing to the small yarding there was a sharp rise before the close. Best 14s to 15s, medium 10s to Ms, inferior from 7s. PigS: 105 yarded. There was a large number of young pigs, but the clas.s was not too good, and consequently prices were low. Porkers and bacone.'s were in good numbers, and prices were a shade firmer. Suckers 10s Oil to 13s. slips los to 18s, s'tores 20s to 235, porkers 33g to 38s, light haconers 40s to 41s and heavy baconers 45s to 50s.
