Poultry.—At the mart ou Saturday we had a large and varied assortment of poultry. Furniture.—On Wednesday we lield a very successful sale of furniture on account of Mr. Cecil Gray and others at their residence, Wallace Place. There was a large attendance, and prices were satisfactory. During the week we have had heavy shipments come forward from Auckland, Nelson, and Hawke's Bay districts, necessitating holding sales almost daily. Prices as under: American oranges, 245; Californian apples (choice) 17s, York Imperials (Colorado) las, Ben Davis 15s; Fiji bananas, green 14b 6d to 16s fid, ripe 2>/ 8 d lb, and in short supply; peaches C'/jd lb, apricots fls ( Jd -to 10s; plums, Cherry Red 5s (id to (is, Yellows 4s M to 5s (id, Early Evans plum 6s 6d to 7s; cucumbers 2s (id to 3s dozen, tomatoes 3'/ 2 d to B'/£dd lb (according to quality), grapes la 9d to la lOd lb, mandarins 8s Ud to Us' 6d, green peas 9d to lid peek, peanuts 2%d, strawberries Is to is 2d, gooseberries 5s (id. Island' are expecting fresh shipment of bananas, oranges, pines, and cocoanuts by the Island steamer due end of week. L. A. NOLAN AND CO.'S REPORT. Poultry.—On Saturday we had a large entry In all class'eß, about 400 birds being penned. Good prices were realised throughout, especially for geese and gobblers. We quote: Hens, poor Is 5d to 2s Id, fat 2s 3d to 2s Od; cockerels Is 7d to 2s Sd, roosters to 2s 7d, ducks Is 7d to 2s 8d; ducklings', small |3d to Is 4d, six weeks Is 8d to 2s sd; geese 3s Od to 4s, gobblers 9s to lis 3d '(poor 8s 3d), turkey hens 4s to 5s 6d, chicks 7d to Is Id, according to t'ize. Fruit—This has been in larger supply.
