Rev. Bates' shmmnrr and forecast are as follow:—Moderate to strong westerlies haye prevailed northwards of New Plymouth and. Napier and freshening northerlies elsewhere:. Rain has fallen on the West Coast and'the southern districts of the South Island, and fine but cloudy "eather elsewhere. The present indications are for hisrh westerly winds and a falling barometer everywhere. Unsettled weather is probable, generally •with rain in most parts, especially three yith ft aspect. Stormy weather is to be i-xpected southward of Kawhia and Castlepoint.
