At a meeting oi the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council, held on Monday afternoon the honorary secretary reported that in connection with the council's letter of December 3rd, 1909, to various associations who had guaranteed towards the cost of the visit of an Australian tfcam, whether or not tliey would 'be prepared to give the guarantee oil'ered by them if the pooling system was abandoned, in favor of each association paying the expenses of their matches and appropriating to their own use the whole of the profits' arising therefrom, the following replies hud been received: —The Auckland Cricket Association was strongly against the pooling system; the Canterbury Cricket Association replied that it was not prepared to give a guarantee if the pooling system was abandoned; the North Taranaki Cricket Association favored the pooling system; the Buller Cricket Association decided to withdraw their guarantee unless the pooling system was adhered to; the Marlborough Cricket 'Association stated that their guarantee was only given on tho understanding that it retains all the profits; the Rangitikci Cricket Association preferred the pooling system, but would stand guarantee in any case; the Wanginrai Cricket Association would pay its guarantee and expenses of the match and take all profits; the Nelson Crisket Association would not accept a matok unless the pooling system was adhered to. It wis resolved that the replied from the associations be held over pending a reply to a cable sent to the secretary of the Board of Control.
