He said he did not intend to do it, but he pleaded guilty. Pahiatua, Last Night. A man named Crease, traveller for Ballinger Bros., of Wellington, was thrown out of his gig this morning, sustaining concussion of the brain, the base of his skull being fractured; He was Men to the hospital, and there is little hope of his recovery. He lias a wife and family in Wellington.
BODY FOUND IN A RIVER. Napier, Last Night. The dead body of a man named John Weir, a laborer, lately employed in scrub-cutting at Tntira, was found in the river at Petane to-day. Some clothing and a swag were seen on the bank by passers-by, and this led to a search being made by a policeman, with the above result. Deceased was last seen alive on Tuesday, when he was walking towards Napier. "
